Ingredients

This recipe uses simple ingredients that you probably already have at home, and the flavors come together for a delicious bite every time,

Ingredients for air fryer pizza bombs: cubed mozzarella cheese, slices of pepperoni, and uncooked biscuits on a black cutting board.
  • 1 can of biscuits (Grands Flaky Layers work best)
  • Mini pepperoni slices or Canadian bacon
  • Block of mozzarella cheese, cut into cubes
  • Melted butter, mixed with Italian seasoning, garlic powder, and Parmesan cheese (for brushing)
  • Marinara or pizza sauce for dipping

See the recipe card below for full ingredient measurements.

Instructions

Follow these simple steps for Air Fryer Pizza Bombs that are crispy on the outside and melty on the inside!

Step 1: Set your air fryer to 350 degrees F and lightly spray the air fryer basket or tray with nonstick cooking spray.

Hands splitting dough on a black cutting board.

Step 2: On a clean work surface, open the can of biscuits and split each biscuit into two pieces.

Dough pieces on a cutting board with slices of cheese and small pepperoni, next to a bowl containing more of the same ingredients.

Step 3: In the center of each biscuit, place a cube of mozzarella cheese and a few slices of pepperoni.

A hand holds a ball of dough. Nearby, there are bowls with cheese cubes and pepperoni slices. Another piece of dough with toppings is on a black cutting board.

Step 4: Pinch the edges of the biscuit dough together and roll to form a sealed ball. Place the seam side down on a cutting board.

Four dough balls on a baking tray are being brushed with melted butter, next to bowls of sliced pepperoni and cubed cheese.

Step 5: Arrange the pizza bombs in a single layer on the air fryer tray. Brush each pizza bomb with the butter mixture of melted butter, Parmesan cheese, and Italian seasoning for extra flavor.

Step 6: Cook for 8-10 minutes until golden brown. Depending on your air fryer, you may need to adjust the cooking time by 1-2 minutes for a crispier finish.

Step 7: Serve with marinara sauce or pizza sauce for dipping and enjoy!

Substitutions

  • Swap the mini pepperoni for Canadian bacon or your favorite pizza toppings.
  • For a more indulgent option, use crescent rolls instead of biscuits for a flakier crust.
  • Make it vegetarian by leaving out the pepperoni and adding diced bell peppers or other veggies.

Variations

  • For a spicy twist, add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the butter mixture.
  • Love garlic? Mix in more garlic powder for extra flavor, or try brushing the tops of the pizza bombs with garlic butter instead.
  • Buffalo Chicken Pizza Bombs: Swap the pepperoni for shredded buffalo chicken dip and serve with ranch dressing for dipping!
  • Veggie Supreme Pizza Bombs: Add chopped bell peppers, onions, and mushrooms in place of the pepperoni for a veggie-packed twist. You can also add spinach or olives to customize with your favorite pizza toppings.

Equipment

You'll need an air fryer for this recipe. I love the oven style bs basket so that you can fit more and for even cooking! If you don't have one, you can bake these on a baking sheet in the oven at 375°F for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.

Storage

These Air Fryer Pizza Bombs can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. To reheat, pop them back into the air fryer for 6-8 minutes to get them crispy again. You can also freeze them in a freezer-safe bag for up to 2-3 months.

Top Tip

  • Make sure the edges of the biscuit dough are sealed well to prevent the cheese from leaking out during cooking.
  • Don't overcrowd the air fryer basket-cook the pizza bombs in a single layer for even cooking.
