Single Serving Peach Crisp (Peach Dessert for One!)

↓ Jump to Recipe

There is nothing better than a good summer peach, especially when it turns into something warm, bubbly, and covered in a buttery oat topping. This single serving peach crisp is my easy little shortcut dessert when I want that Southern peach dessert feel without making a whole pan.

A single serving peach crisp is topped with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.

The best part? The topping uses a maple brown sugar oatmeal packet, which means the oats, sweetness, and cozy flavor are already built in. It is a great way to use up those extra packets in the pantry and turn one peach into a dessert that tastes like you did way more than you actually did.

As a Southern dietitian, I love recipes that feel comforting and realistic, and this one checks both boxes.  Serve it warm with vanilla ice cream for the classic route, or add a spoonful of vanilla Greek yogurt if you want something creamy with a little bit more protein. Either way, it is simple, summery, and made for peach season.

  • Smart pantry shortcut: A maple brown sugar oatmeal packet makes the crisp topping easy, already portioned, and full of built-in flavor.
  • Peak peach season recipe: Fresh peaches bake with brown sugar, cinnamon, and vanilla into a soft, jammy filling that tastes like Southern summer.
  • Easy to make for one or many: You can bake one ramekin for yourself or line up several for BBQs, picnics, and summer get-togethers.

Ingredients for Mini Peach Crisp

This easy peach dessert for one uses simple pantry ingredients and one fresh peach to make a warm dessert that tastes like Southern summer.

Ingredients for single serving peach crisp are labeled on a white marble surface.
  • Peach: Use one ripe but still slightly firm peach so it softens in the oven without turning mushy. I personally leave the skin, but you can peel it if you prefer a softer filling.
  • Brown sugar: Brown sugar adds that warm caramel-like sweetness that works so well with peaches and cinnamon.
  • All-purpose flour: A little flour helps thicken the peach juices so the filling turns soft and jammy instead of watery.
  • Cinnamon: Cinnamon gives the peach base and crisp topping that cozy flavor you expect from a classic peach crisp.
  • Vanilla extract: Vanilla rounds out the filling and makes the peach flavor taste a little richer.
  • Maple brown sugar oatmeal packet: This is the shortcut that makes the topping so easy because the oats, sweetness, and flavor are already built in. I like using the lower sugar variety so it's not overly sweet!
  • Butter: Butter helps the oatmeal topping bake up golden, crumbly, and crisp around the edges.
  • Optional toppings: Vanilla ice cream gives you the classic dessert feel, while vanilla Greek yogurt adds a creamy, tangy finish with a little protein.

See the recipe card below for the full list of ingredients and measurements.

Substitutions & Variations

This mini peach crisp for one is easy to adjust based on what you have in the pantry or how you want to serve it.

  • Canned or frozen peaches can work in this crisp when fresh peaches are not in season. Make sure to drain them well, thaw frozen peaches first, and reduce the sugar slightly if using peaches packed in syrup.
  • Feel free to use plain instant oatmeal packets in the topping and adjust the brown sugar and cinnamon to taste.
  • Fun oatmeal packet flavors like cinnamon spice, apple cinnamon, or peaches and cream can add extra flavor to the crisp without much extra effort.
  • A handful of chopped cinnamon pecans in the topping adds extra crunch and a little Southern-style nuttiness.
  • Swap the peaches for nectarines, apples, blueberries, or blackberries depending on the season!

How to Make Single Serving Peach Crisp with Oats

This recipe comes together right in a small ramekin, which keeps cleanup simple and makes the perfect portion for one.

Step 1: Preheat the oven to 350°F and lightly grease an 8 to 10-ounce oven-safe ramekin.

Chopped peaches, flour, cinnamon, brown sugar, and vanilla are added to a ramekin.

Step 2: Add the chopped peach, brown sugar, flour, cinnamon, and vanilla extract directly to the ramekin. Stir until the peach pieces are evenly coated.

Oatmeal, brown sugar, cinnamon, flour, and butter are mixed in a bowl for the crisp topping.

Step 3: In a separate small bowl, add the maple brown sugar oatmeal packet, flour, brown sugar, cinnamon, and butter. Use a fork to mix until the topping looks crumbly and slightly moist. It should clump together a little when pressed, but it shouldn't look like a paste.

Oatmeal crisp topping is spooned over the peach filling in a white ramekin.

Step 4: Sprinkle the oatmeal crisp topping evenly over the peach filling. Try not to pack it down too tightly because a loose topping bakes up more crisp and crumbly.

A baked single serving peach crisp sits in a white ramekin with fresh peaches in the background.

Step 5: Bake for 15 to 20 minutes, or until the peach filling bubbles around the edges and the topping turns golden brown. If the topping browns too quickly, loosely cover the ramekin with foil for the last few minutes.

Step 6: Let the peach crisp cool for 5 to 10 minutes before serving so the filling can thicken slightly. Top with vanilla Greek yogurt, ice cream, or whipped cream, and enjoy warm.

Tips for Best Single Serving Peach Crisp

These simple tips help your individual peach crisp with oats bakes up sweet, bubbly, and golden every time.

  • Don't skip the little bit of flour in the peach filling! It helps the brown sugar and peach juices thicken into a jammy sauce instead of staying thin.
  • Mix the oatmeal topping until it looks crumbly because larger buttery crumbs bake up better than a smooth paste.
  • You can place the ramekin on a baking sheet to catch any bubbling peach juices and make it easier to move in and out of the oven.
  • Let the peach crisp cool for 5 to 10 minutes so the filling sets slightly and does not run everywhere when you take the first bite.

Storage

This single serve peach crisp tastes best warm from the oven, but you can store leftovers if needed.

  • Refrigerator: Store leftover peach crisp in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.
  • Reheating: Warm the peach crisp in the oven at 325°F until heated through so the topping can crisp back up. You can use the microwave for a faster reheat, but know the topping will be softer.
  • Freezing: I do not recommend freezing this peach crisp because the small portion and oat topping can turn soft after thawing.
  • Make ahead: Mix the topping ahead of time and store it covered in the refrigerator until you are ready to bake.

FAQ

Can I make this peach crisp in the microwave?

Yes, but the topping will be softer than the oven-baked version. Microwave the peach filling until warm, add the topping, and microwave again until heated through. For the crispiest topping, the oven works best.

Can I double this recipe?

Yes, you can make a peach crisp for two by baking it in two ramekins or one small baking dish. If using a baking dish, watch the bake time and pull it from the oven when the filling is bubbly and the topping is golden.

Can I make this single serving peach crisp for a party?

Yes, this single serving peach crisp is easy to scale for a party by lining up several ramekins on a sheet pan and multiplying the ingredients by the number of guests. It works especially well for BBQs, picnics, and summer get-togethers because everyone gets their own warm little peach crisp.

When is peach season?

Peach season usually runs from late spring through summer, with the sweetest, juiciest peaches often showing up from June through August depending on where you live.
