Ingredients

  • Cooking spray
  • 1 pound ground lamb 85% lean recommended
  • 1 tablespoon gyro seasoning
  • cup plain breadcrumbs
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley chopped
  • 1 egg beaten

Instructions

  • Preheat your air fryer to 375°F and lightly spray the basket with oil or line it with parchment paper for easier cleanup.
  • In a large bowl, combine the ground lamb, gyro seasoning, breadcrumbs, parsley, and egg. Mix just until combined, being careful not to overwork the mixture.
  • Use a cookie scoop or spoon to portion and roll the mixture into 1 ½-inch meatballs.
  • Arrange the meatballs in a single layer in the air fryer basket, making sure they aren’t touching.
  • Air fry for 10-15 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through, until the meatballs are golden brown and reach an internal temperature of 160°F.
  • Let them rest for 2 to 3 minutes before serving.

Notes

  • No gyro seasoning? Mix 1 teaspoon each dried oregano, garlic powder, onion powder, and a pinch of cumin and cinnamon to make your own.
  • Depending on the size of your meatballs, cooking time may vary slightly, so keep an eye on them toward the end.
  • Want to bake instead? You can cook these in a 400°F oven for 18 to 20 minutes until browned and cooked through.
  • Make ahead: Meatballs can be shaped up to 24 hours in advance and stored in the fridge before cooking.
  • To freeze: Freeze cooked or uncooked meatballs in a single layer, then transfer to a freezer bag. Reheat from frozen in the air fryer at 350°F.
