This apple pulled pork is juicy, tender, and full of sweet and smoky flavor. Made with just a handful of simple ingredients, it's perfect for meal prep, game day, or an easy weeknight dinner.
Pat the pork dry with paper towels and place it in the slow cooker.
Rub the BBQ seasoning all over the pork, coating it well on all sides.
Pour in the apple juice, apple cider vinegar, and BBQ sauce, making sure the liquid surrounds the pork (not poured directly on top).
Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours, until the pork is fork-tender and easy to shred.
Shred the pork directly in the slow cooker using two forks, or remove it to a cutting board to shred, then return it to the sauce.
You can remove some of the liquid and reduce it on the stovetop for a thicker sauce, or simply add more BBQ sauce to serve, depending on how saucy you like it.
Notes
Use pork shoulder instead of pork loin if you want a richer, more traditional texture.
To make it extra saucy, stir in an extra ½ cup of BBQ sauce after shredding.
Leftovers freeze well and are great for meal prep, sandwiches, or BBQ bowls.
Try it with my Homemade Apple BBQ Sauce for even more sweet and tangy flavor.
