Ingredients

  • 1 cup balsamic vinegar
  • ¼ cup fig preserves

Instructions

  • In a small saucepan, combine the balsamic vinegar and fig preserves.
  • Bring to a gentle boil, then reduce the heat to low. Simmer for 10–15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the glaze thickens and coats the back of a spoon.
  • Remove from heat and let it cool slightly. It will continue to thicken as it cools.
  • Transfer to a glass jar or airtight container and refrigerate once cooled.

Notes

  • Make sure to simmer low and stir often to avoid scorching.
  • If it thickens too much, add a splash of warm water or vinegar to loosen it up.
  • Store in the fridge for up to 3 weeks. I do not recommend freezing it!
