Make Halloween extra fun with these boonanas, the cutest frozen banana ghost pops. A simple, family-friendly treat that’s sweet, spooky, and a little healthier than your average candy haul.
Peel and cut each banana in half. Insert a popsicle stick into the flat end.
Place white chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl. Heat in 30-second intervals, stirring until smooth.
Hold each banana by the stick and dip into the melted chocolate, covering about 80 to 90 percent. Use a narrow glass instead of a wide bowl for easier coating.
Lay the dipped bananas on a parchment-lined baking sheet and press on two candy eyes before the chocolate sets.
Place the tray in the freezer for about 15 to 20 minutes, or until set.
Keep frozen until you’re ready to serve. They’re best slightly thawed for a creamy bite.
Notes
Use firm, yellow bananas for best texture.
Dip the popsicle stick in melted chocolate before inserting to help it stay secure.
For a fun twist, add sprinkles, coconut, or crushed nuts before freezing.
Keep boonanas frozen in an airtight container for up to one month.
