Ingredients

  • 1 cup ketchup
  • 1 cup peach preserves
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • ¼ cup apple cider vinegar
  • ¼ cup whiskey
  • 2 tablespoons molasses
  • 2 tablespoons BBQ dry rub blend

Instructions

  • Add all ingredients to a medium saucepan: ketchup, peach preserves, brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, whiskey, molasses, and BBQ seasoning.
  • Whisk well to combine, then place over medium heat.
  • Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer and cook for about 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sauce thickens slightly.
  • Remove from heat and let cool completely. The sauce will thicken more as it cools.
  • Transfer to a jar or airtight container and store in the fridge.

Notes

  • This recipe makes 2 cups of sauce (2 tbsp/serving).
  • Sauce can be made ahead and stored in the fridge for up to 10 days or frozen for up to 3 months.
  • Taste and adjust as needed! Add more vinegar for tang, more sugar for sweetness, or a dash of cayenne for spice.
For a smoother texture, you can blend the sauce before storing.
