¼ cup dark brown sugar 1 tablespoon coarse sea salt 2 teaspoons black pepper 2 teaspoons smoked paprika 2 teaspoons garlic powder 2 teaspoons onion powder 1 teaspoon ground mustard powder ½ teaspoon chipotle chili pepper powder
Add all ingredients to a small bowl and stir until fully combined.
Transfer to an airtight jar or container. Label with the name and date, then store in a cool, dry place.
This recipe makes about ½ cup (1 tbsp/serving).
Store in an airtight container like a small mason jar or spice jar for up to 6 months in a cool, dry pantry.
If the brown sugar starts to clump, just give the jar a good shake or stir before using. It’s still perfectly fine!
Use about 1 to 1½ tablespoons of rub per pound of meat for great flavor without overpowering.
This rub is perfect for more than meat. Try it on roasted vegetables, air-fried tofu, popcorn, or stirred into dips and dressings!
