Ingredients

  • 1 cup balsamic vinegar
  • ¼ cup raspberry preserves

Instructions

  • In a small saucepan, combine balsamic vinegar and raspberry preserves.
  • Bring mixture to a gentle boil over medium heat, then reduce to low and let it simmer. Make sure to stir occasionally for 10 to 15 minutes, until it reduces by about half and thickens enough to coat the back of a spoon.
  • Let it cool slightly. It will thicken more as it cools.
  • Transfer to a jar or airtight container and refrigerate once cooled.

Notes

  • Make sure to keep the heat low and stir regularly while it reduces to prevent sticking or burning.
  • If the glaze becomes too thick after chilling, stir in a splash of warm water or extra vinegar to loosen it up.
  • Store the glaze in a sealed jar in the fridge for up to 3 weeks. Avoid freezing, as it can cause the texture to separate or become grainy.
